Why some people are more Consciously Aware than others?
by: Jennifer Kruse, LMT CRMT - Reiki & Holistic Healing - Fargo
By consciously refusing to face unpleasant emotions, a person systematically shuts down more and more of their own conscious awareness.
This explains why people have varying degrees of conscious awareness.
Something similar happens when someone experiences traumatic memory repression...
Difference between Memory Repression and Emotion Repression:
Traumatic Memory Repression - not a conscious choice.
Unpleasant Emotion Repression - a conscious choice.
What happens to those who continually stuff their unpleasant emotions down?
Anything you keep stuffing inside... will eventually fill you up.
The amount of people on anti-depressant medication is alarming. When people report feeling a general overall sadness, could this be indicating that their "Unpleasant Emotion Tank" is nearly full?
Unpleasant emotions must be dealt with someday. If just one unpleasant emotion is more than you want to handle right now, remind yourself that it's easier to face them one at a time, rather than all at once when your "Unpleasant Emotion Tank" becomes full.
Choose to fully experience and release unpleasant emotions, it's the healthy and happy choice.
