Strange UFO-like Cloud Formation Hovers over Minnesota Pow Wow.

This perfectly round Hole "Punch Cloud" hovered above the Ponemah Pow Wow Grounds at sunrise during Ponemah's Annual 4-day Traditional Labor Day Pow Wow 2012.
Hole Punch Clouds have been the topic of much debate and mystery.

Hole Punch Clouds are named for their obvious hole punched through a cloud.
Scientists have not fully agreed upon the cause of these rare cloud formations.
Scientists have felt pressured to answer multitudes of questions about these clouds ever since a Hole Punch Cloud was televised on the news as it appeared over Moscow on October 7, 2009.
Some scientists believe that Hole Punch Clouds are formed by airplanes taking off, punching a hole through the clouds. Scientists have even proven that indeed, some Hole Punch Clouds can be created by airplanes.
What if the Hole Punch Cloud formed no where near an airport?

These photographs were taken in a very secluded area of Minnesota, on the Red Lake Indian Reservation.
There are no airports nearby, making it seem highly unlikely that it could have been created by an airplane.
The Hole Punch Cloud appeared to form just off shore, above the water.

The Hole Punch Cloud formed over the largest body of fresh water completely contained within the United States, Upper and Lower Red Lake, Minnesota.

As you can see from both of these photographs, this is an extremely large body of water!
The nearest airport is to the South in Bemidji, which is approximately
1-1/2 hour drive from the location where the Hole Punch Cloud formed over Ponemah, Minnesota.

A small group of campers, awoke early, just in time to watch the sunrise on Sept. 1, 2012. They observed as clear skies above Ponemah were met by clouds which came in from above the water.
Jennifer Kruse began taking pictures immediately when she noticed that a round hole was forming in the cloud.
Jennifer had become interested in this particular cloud-type after seeing a news video of the Hole Punch Cloud which appeared over Moscow in October 2009.

Observers watched as the Ponemah Punch Cloud formed...

Observers commented that it appeared as though the clouds were going around something in the sky.
Hole Punch Clouds are also called Fallstreak Clouds for the typical falling snow which falls from the middle of the round opening.
Scientists believe the Fallstreak is a result of the airplane causing the Hole Punch Cloud.

All pictures show there is nothing located within the circle of the Ponemah Hole Punch Cloud. This particular Hole Punch Cloud appears to be without the usual airplane and it's resulting Fallstreak.
What else could have caused this hole to form within the cloud?
We simply don't know.
