"Maybe someday, later down the road, I'll get to that."      Sound familiar?

Do you procrastinate tasks which are not pleasant to do or deal with?

Procrastinating some tasks could be harmful to your Physical Health!

Learn which tasks to tackle right away... for your good health.

Picture

Procrastinating Emotional Tasks is an unhealthy habit many people have in common.

Emotional tasks are emotions & actions that you may find unpleasant to experience, such as:
     Crying
     Apologizing to Others
     Accepting & Addressing feelings of:
Sadness, Anger, Resentment, Grief & Guilt.
Many people also "Take it Quietly" while they are taken advantage of by others.

How easy it is to fall into procrastination with these unpleasant tasks!

I've found myself choking back the tears many times, while thinking:
"I don't want to cry in front of these people... I'll do it later!"

Picture
Do we ever really take the time to experience, accept, address and release those unpleasant emotions later?

What time did you schedule the crying you put off until you would be alone?
We never used to either!

Q: Stuff it away & it's gone, right?
            A:  WRONG!

                 It's still there left un-done!

Q:  I don't feel like crying anymore, so it's gone, right?
             A:  WRONG!  It's just
"out of sight, out of mind."
Just because you can't see it, touch it or feel it at this very moment, it
does not mean that it's gone.  It's still there and there's a part of you which
remains "stuck" in that emotional state until you release it.

Picture
People have been storing their emotions in their bodies for quite some time.

My Mother taught me long ago.... Just because the majority are doing it, doesn't make it a Healthy Choice.

Where do you think Disease comes from?

Holistically Speaking...
Physical Disease is caused from the Body being in a state of Dis-ease.
The Dis-ease often comes from "stuffing" these procrastinated emotional tasks "deep enough" to avoid them as long as possible.

These emotions are NOT gone...
They will get your attention eventually, whether you like it or not!

Picture
This is not a new idea, it has been taught in medical fields for a long time.

In the 90's, during Massage Therapy School, we learned about how to help our clients during a "Spontaneous Emotional Release."

Releasing a chronic muscle spasm can result in "Spontaneous Emotional Release."
The client experiences the emotion suddenly, sometimes telling the story, without understanding why & then it's gone.

In my professional practice, this is a common event. Often the emotion released is from something that happened many years earlier.

It usually happens very quickly, lasting only a few moments or minutes. They feel an incredible sense of peace immediately, the emotional & physical aspects of the relief is obvious to both of us!

Physical Pain, Dis-ease in any form... muscular tension, even a rash or chronic skin condition are often Physical Manifestations of your Procrastinated Emotional Discomfort.  When something hurts, it definitely gets your attention!

Picture
Western Medicine is the category which regular Medical Doctors fall into here in America. Western Medicine has named these physical manifestations by sorting them into
"clumps of symptoms" and labeling it with a name such as Cancer, Psoriasis, Migraine Headaches, High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, etc.

They help to address your problem when it finally gets your attention. Hopefully,
they effectively address the symptoms, but what about the cause?

Did they pull out the Disease Root?

Picture
What does the Titanic have in common with many sick medical patients?

The Titanic saw only what was on the surface, but what was hiding below the surface was the much bigger problem.

Symptoms of physical disease are like the "tip of the iceberg."
Before it's too late, Holistic Medicine goes looking for that which is hiding below the surface.

Holistic Medicine is actually a Concept.
Imagine a garden which the gardener procrastinated weeding, the weeds grew tall and strong.  The Gardener can't ignore the weeds anymore, they aren't hidden, the thorns on the weeds are everywhere, pricking the gardener each time he tries to collect something to eat.  The gardener must take action now or soon there will be nothing to eat!

Picture

He grabs a weed-wacker & quickly eliminates the unsightly weeds by mowing them right down to the ground.

Everything looks and feels much better in the garden, the problem is gone now, right?

This is a perfect example of "Out of Sight, Out of Mind."
It's a temporary cosmetic solution, a visual illusion of a solved problem.
Everyone knows, in order to rid a garden of a weed, you must pull it out and make sure to get the root or it'll come right back!  The Root is what chokes out & harms the vegetables in the garden.

Picture
Addressing a problem's symptoms creates the often temporary illusion of "good health."
The rash is gone, all fixed!
The pain pills made the pain disappear... All Better!
Terminal Cancer is now in remission.... Cured!
Surgically Fused Vertebra... no more sore back!

Would you be satisfied if the Doctor just put a bandage on your gaping chest wound and called it good?

When it feels and looks much better, don't forget to ask:
Did they Pull the Root of the Dis-Ease Weed in your Body's Garden?

The Root is what Caused the Dis-ease in the first place.

Holistic Medicine Concepts hunt for the Root of Dis-Ease, so that it can be pulled once and for all.  As a Massage Therapist, I've found that the Location of Pain is 99.9% of the time, nowhere near what is causing it!  That's true here too.

Picture

Still don't believe Procrastinated Emotional Tasks can cause Physical Dis-Ease?

More and More Traditional Western Medical Doctors are also agreeing that this is TRUE!

They really don't want you to have to take medications for your entire life.  Doctors are increasingly suggesting Complimentary Alternative Medicines (CAM therapies) in addition to their traditional treatments to address these roots of dis-ease.

Picture
Holistic Medicine hunts for the Dis-ease root crossing ALL barriers!

The cause could be:

physical, emotional, mental or spiritual.

Holistic = Treating the Whole Person.
The person must be treated as a WHOLE PERSON, helping them to restore balance within themselves.

Remember...
What goes down, must come out. This also applies to procrastinated emotional tasks.  Many of my Clients and Students experience these spontaneous emotional releases during different stages of their healing.

Have you ever started crying and didn't understand why you were crying or why over something from so long ago? It was probably something you had kept.
In these situations, it's best not to get carried away with sadness or worry.

Just let it out and be glad that it's leaving you... it's Good for Your Health!
