Mother Teresa to spend her life
LOVING ALL
those who felt unloved:
“Each one of them is Jesus in disguise.”
~ Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa of Calcutta was originally from Albania.
While working as a schoolteacher in India,
one day she looked at a poor person who was begging her for help.
As she looked at his face,
she saw Christ looking back at her.
The rest is history.
That one belief may have set her apart from everyone else!
Instead of trying to "convert others" to Christianity...
Mother Teresa simply
LOVED THEM
as if they were
Jesus Christ
himself.
“There is always the danger that we may just do the work for the sake of the work. This is where the respect and the love and the devotion come in - that we do it to God, to Christ,
and that's why we try to do it as beautifully as possible.”
~ Mother Teresa
“The dying, the cripple, the mental, the unwanted, the unloved-- they are Jesus in disguise.” ~ Mother Teresa
“I see God in every human being. When I wash the leper's wounds, I feel I am nursing the Lord himself. Is it not a beautiful experience?” ~ Mother Teresa

Loneliness & Feeling Unloved:
“Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty.”
“One of the greatest diseases is to be nobody to anybody.”
“The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.”
“There is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation in this world than for bread.”
“In the West there is loneliness, which I call the leprosy of the West. In many ways it is worse than our poor in Calcutta.” (Commonweal, Dec 19, 1997)
“Even the rich are hungry for love, for being cared for, for being wanted, for having someone to call their own.”
“There is a terrible hunger for love. We all experience that in our lives--the pain, the loneliness. We must have the courage to recognize it. The poor you may have right in your own family. Find them. Love them.”
What We Do, Really Does Matter:
“Good works are links that form a chain of love.”
“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
“Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.”
Words of Light:
“Kind words can be short and easy to speak,
“Words which do not give the light of Christ
SMILE:
” We shall never know all the good
“Peace begins with a smile. “
“Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.”
“Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person… a beautiful thing.”
LOVE SELF FIRST:
“God told us, "Love your neighbor as yourself."
So first I am to love myself rightly, and
then to love my neighbor like that.
But how can I love myself
unless I accept myself as God has made me?”
LOVE requires our participation:
“Love cannot remain by itself… it has no meaning. Love has to be put into action, and that act is service.”
“When you look at electrical things you can see that they are made of small and big wires, cheap and expensive all lined up. Until the current runs through them there will be no light. Those wires are you and me and the current is God. We have the power to let the current pass through us, use us and produce the light of the world or we can refuse to be used and allow darkness to spread.”
“To keep a lamp burning we have to put oil in it.”
Spread the LOVE:
“I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world.“
“Let us love one another as God loves each one of us.”
“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”
“Intense love does not measure, it just gives.”
“Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired.”
“Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action.”
“Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand. “
“Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.”
Connected to Each Other:
“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”
Silence in Nature:
“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.”
Success of love, not in the result:
