Compare these Final Exams to parallel parking on the driver's license test.

If you pass...
you never have to do it again, unless you really want to!

If you fail...
it's not the end of the world,
you can take the test again.

Big Jerks come back to give you more tests!

Next time a Big Jerk (Final Exam) shows up...
instead of hearing him, imagine hearing the alert sound from the
Emergency Broadcast System:

"Ehrrr, Ehrrr, Ehrrr... This is a Test, This is ONLY a Test."
Make it so loud in your head, that you can't even really hear the Big Jerk.
Recognize the Big Jerk as "Your Final Exam."

Apply the Lesson to Pass this Final Exam.
Don't forget to smile appreciatively as you wave goodbye to the Big Jerk.
Do a victory dance...
Celebrate each passed final exam, it represents your graduation.

Retaking a test isn't always a bad thing. Some times you learn more when you re-read the question/re-do the situation. Although at times we might not like it,it might be necessary ,so we can learn live and move forward :). For an example, you get very angry, and you do nothing about your anger ,the same anger reappears ,this time you release it by crying, beating on your pillow or what ever you do to release it in a non judgmental way to others....you passed! yeah!
That is why children forgive so easily ...they release their anger often :) and they move on quickly :) Some of our greatest teachers do not even speak a word :) ~Good Luck with all your exams in life~

You are correct, often it is learning how to appropriately express our feelings, like in your example: How should we handle feeling angry?
Perhaps we should also consider that "healthy communication" with others will most likely uncover the truth underneath the conflict. If you had understood that truth from the beginning, it would not have made you angry in the first place.
Anger is usually a result of believing that someone didn't care enough or is purposefully doing (or not doing) things to hurt you.
In relationships, this is almost never true.
If it is true, then it is most likely a reaction to your reaction to their reaction to your reaction to their reaction, etc. :)
Conflicts begin as a misunderstanding, a continued belief that it was intentional and this begins the conflict's chain reactions. Reactions may become intentional, but the conflict began as an innocent misunderstanding.
It's amazing how many intentional reactions become mute and forgivable once the original misunderstanding is uncovered as just a simple misunderstanding.

Wonder Why Lesson #1 is about Final Exams???
Because we are always being tested!
Now you know what these "trying moments" are... You'll start acing your exams! :)
