Holistic means to address something in it's entirety, to address the WHOLE problem. Addressing only one current aspect of a problem has not resolved the issue, it usually creates more issues. Please join me in looking at this topic in a Holistic Manner, identifying the underlying hidden aspects at the root of this debate, looking at possible solutions. Let's put this arguement to rest, ONCE & FOR ALL.
Whether you, as the reader, consider yourself as FOR or AGAINST Gun Control, you will appreciate this way of addressing the real problem. That's the KEY to finding the solution! We must first IDENTIFY, what is the REAL PROBLEM?
Holistically speaking, one of the problems is that there is a division of people who feel extremely passionate about their viewpoint & since they are BOTH Equally passionate, they DEFEND their viewpoint with more energy than they seek to find a TRUE SOLUTION. The debate itself has caused an increase in the problems which sparked the initial awareness that something was wrong.
BOTH SIDES feel they are 100% Right... they have essentially become enemies in a situation where they could very easily BOTH AGREE 100%. How? IDENTIFY THE REAL PROBLEM which both parties are concerned with. In this case, I'll provide a partial list:
Murder of Innocent People
Guns in Schools
Kids killing Kids
We can all agree that these are the problems which began this debate and they should be placed back at the top of the list. If gun control was the answer, then it would have already provided relief in these problems. If giving all people guns was the answer, then it would not have allowed for these problems to have developed. The problem is that this debate has gotten so focused upon GUNS, as the problem, that they have stopped addressing the problems which BOTH SIDES AGREE upon. The result? Creation of a BIPOLAR SITUATION. Like Bipolar Disorder, this has become a WAR WITHIN. Both have run to their opposite corners & defend their position. Whenever someone is DEFENDING, they don't realize they are actually REJECTING & ATTACKING. Defending in this way results in the other side also Defending, which is actually REJECTING & ATTACKING. This creates a war situation. How do we win a war? History tells us that we win by force, stomp on the enemy until they are all dead or they surrender to our domination & control. Is that really something to celebrate or strive for in this situation? That means that the REAL PROBLEM is not being addressed!
Fear of government gun control has caused more problems. I know people who went out and bought a bunch of fire arms, if there was a record of their buying it, they pretended to sell it online, so that if the goverment came to collect it, they had proof they no longer had it. How many people built up a personal arsenal when President Obama was elected? I have seen one of these arsenals stock piled. A retired solider, he was trained to defend America. I saw the fear run wild with the idea of potentially losing his weapons. I walked into a living room which measures 16X20', were fire arms of ALL KINDS. They were all layed out, covering every piece of furniture, layed out over the floor, covering the room completely. The kitchen table, which seats six, also completely covered. The kitchen counter, which is 10 feet in length, also completely covered. Rifles, shotguns, handguns, etc. Most of these fire arms were unregistered, so that the government would not come to collect them someday.
This caused an INCREASE in the amount of fire arms which are unregistered.
How about the amount of assets which are being hidden away? This FEAR of gun control has created a situation in which good law abiding citizens are NORMALIZING unregistered guns. Criminals may easily blend in with them in the name of having the same "cause." Criminals would have previously been noticed & reported more easily. How many crimes could have been prevented had the "fear of gun control" never existed within the average citizens?
The solution is NOT GUN CONTROL.
The solution is found in addressing the people behind those guns. The solution is to END THE DIVISIONS of people and FIND PEACE. Please put down the debate and pick up the task of finding the solutions to the REAL PROBLEMS.... TOGETHER. Those solutions are waiting to be found, they are simpler than you realize! Part of the solution is to work together.
Postive changes can never be forced ....
but they are EASILY INSPIRED!
