But What is the result when a person believes that something can HARM THEM?
Do they give it the power to do so?
Does it really harm them?
Is it their own mind which creates the harmful result they expected?
That's the real question!!!
I formerly suffered for years from severe Panic-Disorder.
I KNOW the negative physical effects which FEAR can have on the mind and body!
It's quite literally the Placebo Effect in REVERSE!
What is the Placebo Effect?
Countless Medical Studies have been done which have scientifically proven the Placebo Effect over and over.
They take a group of people, suffering from the same diagnosis.
They give them a NEW MEDICATION which is believed to be the NEW CURE for their Diagnosis.
Some of the group is given the NEW MEDICATION, the rest are given a PLACEBO, which only looks like it. Not even the Doctors are informed which patients received the real medication until AFTER the Clinical Case Study has ended.
Time and Time Again...
The Patients GET BETTER... ALL OF THEM!
The patients who received the PLACEBO got better at the same rate as those taking the actual Medication!
The Placebo Effect proves:
What you BELIEVE can help you... CAN!
It's a test which scientifically proves what you THINK and BELIEVE has a direct effect upon your Physical Body!
The Placebo Effect... IN REVERSE
Can a simple BELIEF that something can HARM YOU,
actually cause the harm?
I look to my own life experiences searching for the answers:
I was always immune to poison ivy, burning weed, poison oak, etc.
My mom was too!
When I was a kid, we used to roll under the electric fence nearly every day to cross the pasture.... did this for a very long time.
One day my step grandma came along and started screaming after seeing us roll under, as Mom and I were doing so in a patch of poison ivy.
My mom said, "No... this can't be poison ivy, we do this all the time."
Grandma refused to follow that route and chose a different place to roll under...
but Mom and I never change our usual path.
A couple springs ago...
I went to my moms and we were gonna go out into our woods and explore.
I hadn't done that there for about 20 years!
My mom got a phone call and went in the house.
I went out back and looked over the cliff to see if I could spot the tree I grew in school when I was six years old. It was an evergreen and would be the only one there, should be able to see it by now, if it survived.
My Mom came out of the house screaming... "the burning weed, watch out for the burning weed!!!"
I turned around and said, "What is burning weed Mom? Where?"
She said, "You are standing in it!!!"
I was wearing a very short skort... the weeds I was standing in were thick and were in fact touching me everywhere all the way up to my upper thigh.
I said, "this stuff?"
"yes!!!!" mom yelled
"What's it supposed to do?"
She said, "it burns you really bad!!!"
"When?" I asked.
She screamed out urgently, "IMMEDIATELY!"
I laughed and said..."obviously NOT! Must be like poison ivy mom.... we don't get that either, remember?"
My mom put her head down and said, "I get poison ivy now though."
"WHAT?!?!? since when?"
She didn't know.
I asked, "could it be when you learned what poison ivy looked like and
began to FEAR IT?"
Yes, she thought that was probably about the same time.
My Mom was always immune to poison ivy too.... but the mere
learning what it looked like and fearing it opened her up to the nasty effects others experience from poison ivy.
It proves my point....
It's the placebo effect, in reverse!
Fear is BAD for the Body!
The mere belief that it could harm, allowed for her to be harmed by it.
Enjoyment is Good for the Body!
Recently, it was brought to my attention about how people give up things they enjoy, like hot cocoa, out of a belief that it's bad for their health. I know people who eat things they don't enjoy and gave up everything they really did.
How is that healthy?
I suggest a compromise!!!
Have a cup of hot cocoa and BELIEVE that it is GOOD FOR YOU because it is!!!!
The chemicals created within the brain when you are ENJOYING something are extremely powerful!
They have such amazing HEALING QUALITIES to the ENTIRE BODY!!!!!
Truly ENJOY IT
Enjoyment without any guilt or fear whatsoever....
because negative emotions actually cancel out the pleasure you would have experienced!
Doctors often prescribe pharmaceutical medications for chemical imbalances which cause bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and other discomforts.
All these medications balance the chemicals which
Our Bodies NATURALLY CREATE on their own.
They are produced when the
Person EXPERIENCES GOOD FEELINGS, such as:
All the feelings which make you FEEL GOOD create more of these chemicals.
Medications are just like a crutch to someone with a broken leg...
it's meant to keep them mobile and functioning until they are healed up and able to do it on their own again. The Doctor will assess the situation and let you know when the "crutches" are no longer needed. In the meantime, make choices which support your return to good health.
A Diagnosis is NOT a Life-Sentence!
Chemical Imbalance Dis-Eases are NOT supposed to be permanent!!!!
The Diagnosis ONLY identifies a current problem.
That's the beginning of saying GOOD-BYE to that Problem.
Once identified, it can be properly addressed!
If the chemical is the fix:
then in addition to following your Doctor's orders...
Create new ways to EXPERIENCE THE EMOTIONS which cause your body to create more of these chemicals!
I highly suggest you do some experiments of your own with this.
When you are having a "bad day," try doing something you ENJOY.
Really let yourself ENJOY IT.
Notice how quickly you immediately begin to feel better?
Anyone can try this experiment and find that it's true!
Truly experiencing is the way we humans
ELIMINATE DOUBTS and FEARS once and for all.
You'll believe these things more as you experience them yourself and observe them in others too!
LIVE YOUR LIFE and LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT...
It's Really GOOD For YOUR HEALTH!
